Clout Bucks is a Scam [Legit Review]

July 16, 2020 By // by John 12 Comments

Welcome to my Clout Bucks review.

Most people will tell you that this is legit even if this is a complete scam and I’m glad you did your research.

I’m sure you think or even feel that Cloutbucks.com is the real deal but I want to show you exactly why they aren’t.

I don’t care who claims that they’ve made money, do not believe a single thing they say.

Even if they have a screenshot.

I would like to sit here and explain every detail but reviews like this don’t require that much time.

There are just a few indicators that will explain it all, so let’s not beat around the bush and get straight to the point.

Cloutbucks is not a real site and they will NOT pay you either. Although they are free to join, please do not even signup or you will lose more than just money. They are a phishing scam that will take your information and use it against you. Unless you don’t want that to happen, avoid Clout Bucks at all costs. I do not recommend you join and I do not recommend you promote it like it’s legit either.

What Exactly is Clout Bucks?

Clout Bucks acts as a GPT (get paid to) kind of site like Swagbucks that will pay you to do simple tasks.

Take some surveys, visit other websites, and even watch some videos.

That’s how it works with any legit GPT site and that’s what Clout Bucks wants you to think.

The website looks great, it’s completely free to join, and the claims from others seem promising.

However, there are a lot of things that don’t happen and I want to show you what they are.

But first, let me explain how the scam actually works.

How the Scam Works

Clout Bucks is completely free to join.

They don’t ask for any money and heck, they don’t even ask for any credit card information.

So what happens?

You signup and have the comfort of knowing you have nothing to lose.

That my friend is exactly what they want you to think and that is exactly how you will get in trouble.

Once they get you to feel comfortable, you will go about doing things like you would with any other website.

You will provide your email address and a nice little password that is NEEDED in order to create your Clout Bucks account.

Then you will get your personal link and go out there promoting it like everyone else is doing.

From there you will have accumulated some money and you will think that you have just landed on a gold mine.

That’s how you’ll feel until it comes time to get your money.

Meet the minimum threshold, and it’s time to decide how you will get paid, with the two main options being through check or PayPal.

Most of you will prefer PayPal as it is safe and will get to your account a lot faster.

This is the time where the scums of Clout Bucks step in.

They will take the password you used to create your Clout Bucks account and then try to match it with the PayPal address that you are trying to get paid with.

If the password matches, they will try to transfer some money to themselves.

And if that doesn’t work, be prepared for them to try and get access to any other accounts you might have.

That’s all there is to it and you will not even notice that you have just been hit with a nice little phishing scam.

That’s the first part but do know that their overall site is working against you as well and that is what I will be going over next.

The Red Flags

Every single phishing scam website comes with the same tall tell signs and I want to show you them below.

However, Clout Bucks comes with one that might be a clear indication that it is a scam.

If you go directly to cloutbucks.com and you are using some kind of antivirus protection, you will see something similar to the screenshot above.

Infection type: URL: Phishing

If that is not a clear indication that this site is not safe, then you might just be that desperate.

Now if you were introduced to this site by someone else, you will have most likely clicked on a link that actually worked.

But if you try typing the URL in the address bar, you will see that this is clearly a site designed to take your valuable information.

The other red flags consist of the same exact nonsense you will find on sites like Kids Earn Cash.

As a matter of fact, Kidsearncash.com is now being redirected to Cloutbucks.com, so you can obviously see that the same scammers are running both schemes.

You will see the same poor grammar, the same “happy members”, and fake testimonials.

I know the site is really nice and looks professional but don’t let that fool you.

Will Clout Bucks Actually Pay?

There are members that love to take screenshots of their “earnings” but don’t believe them.

Not to say that they are lying but they simply just don’t know any better.

The screenshots you see are what they see in their Clout Bucks back office.

That’s about the only place it will be as it will never make it to anyone’s PayPal account.

No one is making any money, period.

Final Verdict: Phishing Scam

Clout Bucks is nothing but a big fat scam.

A phishing scam to be exact.

So unless you want your identity taken or something, you best stay away from this site.

Also keep in mind that there are thousands of other sites that look exactly like Clout Bucks so be careful the next time you come across one.

They look great, are most likely free to join, and they will claim to pay you for getting others to join.

If you can understand those simple signs, you can avoid other scams in the future.

My Recommendation

Don’t be desperate.

I know we all want to make money online but it doesn’t come that easy.

Sure you can do it for free with sites like Squishy Cash or other GPT sites but it will not pay you the type of cash that Clout Bucks claims.

Now if you want to make some real money online, not only will you have to pay but you will need to put in the work necessary.

Besides that, don’t ever think that making lots of money online will come as easy as Clout Bucks makes it seem.

If you have any questions about this or any other program for that matter, feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

Thanks for reading my Clout Bucks review and I hope it has been helpful to you in one way or another.

Until next time, good luck and remember to always do your research.

About John

I hope you enjoyed that post. I’m John and I am the owner of this site. I like to think I’m a normal dude just like everyone else but that wouldn’t make me unique. I do have 4 kids and I have gone through the hardest of times, most especially financially. With some learning and growing, I have managed to get back on my feet and live the laptop lifestyle most people only dream of. With that knowledge, I hope to align you with a real and legit way to make money online.

Brokerage Capital is a Blacklisted SCAM Broker

Brokerage Capital originally started out as a Tradologic powered binary options broker. At the time it offered a variety of assets in a less than fancy trading environment and a very coarse customer service desk, but still had a decent offering and some traders really liked them as you can see in various reviews that are still available these days.

As time progressed they made some changes, but were unable to keep up with the constant and fierce competition so eventually it just ended up as a virtual garbage dump and today you will not even be able to trade with them even if you wanted to (and I don’t recommend it).

Furthermore, it was bought to my attention that the ownership changed hands a few times and as much as they tried to improve they found themselves resorting to old bully and SCAM tactics of delaying payout requests and eventually declining withdrawal requests altogether without any explanation, shutting down trading accounts with balances without notification, and trading for the client without written approval and losing funds.

Ultimately this broker became a fully fledged honorary member of the SCAM rat pack with some astonishingly horrific stories being told by traders who had their accounts locked with thousands of dollars in winning funds waiting to be traded or cashed out.

So here’s a quick recap of SCAM brokers you should avoid at all costs: Optimarkets, TraderXP, Cedar Finance, Global Trader 365, XPmarkets, Amber Options, Sycamore Options, TradersKing, Regal Options, and XB24.

There are some other active shady operations and they are all unregulated, however one must keep in mind that there are some brokers with no regulation that are very honest and have an impeccable reputation for paying out on time and resolving a variety of issues that are not directly related to funding your account.

This is especially relevant if you are a US-based trader looking for a way to invest, you will not find many options these days so tread carefully and make sure you partner with the right broker after doing your research and asking them difficult questions specifically concerning withdrawals policy and bonuses.

If you found this broker to be problematic please let me know ASAP.

TopCashBack.com Review – Is It A Scam Or Legit?

TopCashBack (TCB) is a cash back portal that allows you to earn money for purchases you make online. You can also earn cash for signing up for products, services and websites. It’s free to join and there are no on going fees or charges. They claim to offer their users 100% of the commission they earn from merchants and instead make their money from hitting bonuses with select merchants and displaying merchants prominently on their website/newsletters.

That being said, they definitely do not always have the highest cash back on every merchant. This could be because of two reasons: other cash back sites are running loss leaders (e.g losing money on certain deals in the hopes that they’ll make it up on other profitable deals) or topcashback isn’t being honest. In all likelihood it’s a bit of a combination of the two, if they are earning bonuses then I’d consider this part of the commission they earn from the merchant so to be a true 100% return of commission it should include this.

Before using any cash back portal you should always make sure you are aware of what other portals are offering. I personally use CashBackMonitor for this as it allows you to set up alerts for when a particular merchant starts offering X% discount.

You shouldn’t also always just go with the highest cash back rate, some portals offer airline miles or hotel points which might be a better deal. All portals aren’t created equal either, some track better than others. They also have differing levels of customer service when something goes wrong, ideally you want a cash back portal that does all of the following:

  • Pays at a high rate consistently
  • Has a good range of offers
  • Tracks offers quickly and correctly
  • Has a good customer service system if something does go wrong
  • Has a low payout threshold (there is no point earning 50% cash back on all your purchases if the portal requires you to have a balance of $10 million before you can withdraw)
  • Pays out in a timely manner

Offers

TopCashBack has a good selection of offers, for a lot of things they offer the best cash back rate on the market. They are sometimes below other portals so always double check before using them. Below are some of the offers worth looking at, this is updated whenever a new interesting offer becomes available:

Dedicated posts discussing the deal:

Other good deals:

Tracking

I’ve personally never had a tracking issue with TopCashBack. In the side bar they have something which shows you the tracking statistics for each offer. Before doing any deal through TCB I’d recommend clicking “see more statistics”. This gives you a bit more information such as the average tracking speed and then the average payment speed. Take these statistics with a grain of salt, almost always the tracking stats will show 100% satisfied (or close to it), even on deals where you see a lot of tracking complaints on the forums. That said, it can be useful for getting an overall feel for an offer, pay particular attention to Auto Tracking Reliability & the Manual Claims required. This should give you a rough idea how likely it is that you’ll need to put in a manual claim.

Looking at the average payment speed will also give you a good idea of how long you’ll need to wait until the funds will be cleared for withdrawal. The last payment date can also sometimes be useful (e.g they might have always paid on time but the last payment date might have been months ago, in which case the merchant might be on the brink of non-payment or delayed payments).

When you make a purchase your cash back earned will first go to pending, the merchant will then confirm it whilst in these states you cannot withdraw the funds. After the merchant pays TCB it will change to payable, at this stage you can withdraw the funds.

We’ll be adding a post on tips to ensuring your portal tracks correctly in the next couple of days.

Withdrawing Funds

To request payout (remember that your funds must first be moved to payable status) click here or follow these directions:

  • Click Account at the top of the page
  • Click Payout

You can request payout via ACH transfer (this might be useful for trigger a bank account bonus), paypal or Amazon gift cards. If you choose Amazon gift cards then you’ll receive a bonus, the standard bonus is 2.5% but it’s almost always at the increased rate of 5%.

Unfortunately payout is not instantaneous (I thought it would be considering they make you wait for it to become payable) and you need to wait up to 14 days for the funds to actually be paid out. This post will be updated with how long it actually took each method to pay out:

  • Paypal payout: ?
  • ACH payout: ?
  • Amazon gift card payout: ?

Customer Service

As mentioned previously I’ve never had an issue with tracking, as such I haven’t had to contact TopCashBack for customer service support before. When researching this article I did notice that TCB make it difficult to find their claim form for missing cash back. You can access it directly by clicking here. The help page also has some very generic advice.

I decided to do some searching and find people who’ve had issues with TCB and how it was handled (please share your own experiences in the comments).

I have had three transactions with this company and only had issues. Others report fine service. All I know is I won’t dare pass my referral link to my readers. I have only had positive experiences with ebates. They may not pay as much but, darn it, all transactions register automatically and they pay regularly and, most importantly, they never wasted my time tracking down money owed to me!!

George of Travel Blogger Buzz
Had issues with AmexGift cards. Filled out form, including order #, and they credited my account a couple weeks later

@spicpics
yeah lately I’ve had issue a few times and their CS sucked with one exception were they did help me……

Referrals

TopCashBack allows you to “tell a friend” about the site, if that friend signs up using your link, authenticates their account and then earns $10 in cash back then you’ll receive a $10 credit to your account as well. Any sign up bonus they receive does not count towards the $10 they need to earn, there is also a list of programs that don’t count towards this threshold which can be found here.

We allow you to post your referral links in the comments, but to do so you must post a profitable offer that can be found in the TopCashBack portal. If you just post your referral link then it will be removed.

  • GOOD: Purchase X for $10, you can then resell it for $5 and TCB gives you $9 cash back. $4 profit
  • BAD: X has 10% off.

Please consider using the links of people who’s deals you find the most useful in the comments section. If the deal you post here is used for an individual post then your referral link will be included.

Our Verdict

As with most things in life, this is going to boil down to personal preference. TCB usually has higher rates with most merchants, but seems to have higher complaints in regards to tracking. If dealing with support isn’t worth that extra money, then you might be better off with another portal.

You should never assume any portal has the best rate, always check first to make sure. I personally use CashBackMonitor, but there are a lot of other sites out there. If you do decide to sign up for TCB, you can use my link here. Alternatively use one of the referral links that will be found in the comments section.
